Volunteer Today

As part of a Disaster Action Team (DAT), you are the first on the scene and the first face of the American Red Cross people see after a disaster.  All volunteers receive free specialized training in executing vital tasks in field operations, disaster assessment, mass care, sheltering and mental health operations.

Disaster Action Teams work closely with their local fire departments to make sure disaster clients’ basic needs are met in a timely manner.  The most common disaster that Disaster Action Teams respond to in the Mecklenburg-Iredell area is an apartment or house fire.

Remember disaster can strike without warning. For more information on the Disaster Services offered by the Red Cross click here.

If you are interested in volunteering your time please contact the EH Dole Chapter of the American Red Cross at 704.633.3854.
